Internet
Data Link (IDL), a Windows-based program, collects and transfers data to a
website automatically. The software
supports the 501 UV Biometer, PMA2100 Radiometer, and Campbell Scientific
Dataloggers. IDL downloads data at user-specified intervals, then uploads it to
an FTP or Web server.
VIRTUAL
INSTRUMENT PANEL.
The
IDL software also offers an automated method for obtaining data from remote
locations and presenting it in a variety of user-selectable formats. Pressure,
Temperature, Flow, Kilowatts, kWh,
pH, Wind Speed, RPM, are just a few. For example, UV data is shown as MED/Hr,
UV Index, Accumulated Dose or time to sunburn. A sophisticated chart editor
allows users to customize the graphic presentation, using color, dimensional
effects, fonts, etc.A virtual
instrument panel lets users design there own data display using analog
and linear gauges, thermometers, Compass needles, line graphs, digital displays
and more. Archiving of data beyond 24 hours is also an IDL option.
SETUP CHECKLIST & DATA TRANSFER OPTIONS.
Solar Light provides a Setup Checklist with the software that walks users
through all options to ensure a successful transfer of information. IDL saves
the configuration so users only have to make item changes when necessary. The
collected data is converted into a Bitmap, JPEG, GIF, or Text file, then sent
via FTP to a website.
Data refresh rate ranges from every 5 minutes to once per week. Refresh
rates of 30 and 60 minutes are most common. The data may be archived locally or
on the remote site.
