At Solar.com, we couldn&#8217;t be happier to see this kind of commitment to renewable energy. Here is what Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti had to say:<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<blockquote>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;Los Angeles is a leader in the fight against climate change, and we\u2019re on our way to a clean energy future.\u00a0The motion passed today will bring more progress toward the goals laid out in my Sustainable City pLAn and the directives I issued to LADWP following the Aliso Canyon disaster \u2014 taking action to achieve 50% renewable energy by 2030, ending our use of coal five years before that, and working to reduce our dependence on natural gas.
