LADWP wants to encourage Angelenos to choose clean energy. Solar energy contributes to a healthier city and supports the burgeoning local solar industry.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you go solar in the LADWP area, you\u2019ll be eligible to receive a <\/span>one-time rebate check paying you back at a<\/span> rate of $0.25\/Watt for switching to solar<\/span>. Exactly how much you\u2019ll receive depends on your system size.<\/span><\/p>\n

Look at LADWP\u2019s Solar Guidelines and Resources<\/span><\/h2>\n

A good place to start is by reviewing <\/span>LADWP\u2019s qualifications for solar installations<\/span><\/a>. You can find these by navigating from the main page to <\/span>About the Program<\/strong> and then to <\/span>Additional Resources<\/strong>. This page will give you a better idea of what systems meet city requirements and how they could work for your home.<\/span><\/p>\n

LADWP solar also offers resources for finding a solar installer, such as the California Energy Commission (CEC) online database of <\/span>Registered Solar Installers<\/span><\/a>. You\u2019ll also find a list of questions to ask potential contractors.<\/span><\/p>\n

LADWP recommends getting <\/span>at least three quotes from certified solar contractors<\/strong>. They say this is because sometimes solar company representatives and salespeople make claims that aren\u2019t entirely accurate.<\/span><\/p>\n

This might not be intentional. It may simply be because some contractors are not aware or they\u2019re overgeneralizing. Being able to compare three or more quotes will help you spot any discrepancies.<\/span><\/p>\n
