Have you been wondering whether you should take the leap over to solar before 2022?<\/span><\/p>\n

Take advantage of tax rebates before they expire<\/span><\/h3>\n

There are lots of great <\/span>solar rebates (many in California)<\/span><\/a> to take advantage of. They can offset the cost of solar in a big way. But they won\u2019t be around forever.<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>Federal Tax Credit<\/span><\/a>, which is available in all states, offers an incredible 26% reduction in solar installation cost. But it shrinks to 22% in 2023. <\/span>Two years may seem far away, but it\u2019ll be here before you know it. Also, the transition to solar isn\u2019t always a swift process, depending on many factors such as your solar provider, permitting and your utility provider.<\/span><\/p>\n

Increase your home\u2019s value with solar<\/span><\/h3>\n

In a <\/span>large study,<\/span> the U.S. Department of Energy\u2019s Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory<\/span><\/a> looked at the value of homes with rooftop solar. They quantified it based on homes sold across eight states, and over a fifteen-year period.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the findings was that home buyers consistently pay more for homes with solar installed. In fact, the <\/span>homeowners who invested in solar made back at least as much they spent buying the system<\/span><\/a>. Plus, homes with solar installed spent less time on the market.<\/span><\/p>\n
