Best Price Guarantee: Terms and Conditions
These terms are provided for transparency and are summarized here; the full terms apply as written in your agreement.
To be eligible for the Solar.com Best Price Guarantee (the "BPG"), a residential solar or solar-plus-battery customer must provide a professionally formatted written proposal, such as a PDF, from a licensed and insured solar installer. Eligibility for the BPG is determined solely at the discretion of Solar.com. The competing proposal must clearly state each of the following and be the same as or comparable to the offer presented by Solar.com:
- System size (kW DC), and for storage, battery capacity (kWh) and unit count.
- Equipment and warranties, including: solar panel make, wattage, efficiency, and warranty; inverter type (string, microinverter, optimizer, or AC) and warranty; battery make, model, and warranty, if applicable; balance of system (racking and similar); installer workmanship warranty; and any production guarantee offered by the competing installer.
- Additional work required to make the home solar-ready or solar-expandable, such as electrical upgrades, roof work, or a main-panel upgrade.
- Installer credentials, including: a valid contractor's license in the solar trade (3+ years); no outstanding issues with the CSLB or other governing licensing entity; a verified customer review history in good standing; and no use of subcontractors for primary system construction.
- Average monthly loan or financing payment, if applicable, on a comparable financing structure.
Additionally, the customer agrees to:
- Submit the competing quote to a Solar.com energy advisor, or email it to support@solar.com.
- Provide additional information as needed for Solar.com to understand all parameters of the competing quote.
- Acknowledge that the BPG does not apply to concealed project conditions, defined as any condition an installer identifies at the start of installation.
- Be eligible for one BPG claim per project.
If the BPG criteria are satisfied and the customer qualifies, at least one installer from the Solar.com network that bid on the project will match the price of the competing quote. The determination of which bid or bids are selected for the BPG is reserved solely to the discretion of Solar.com. A price adjusted under the BPG is held for seven (7) days after the customer is notified of the adjustment.
The competing quote must be a genuine, arm's-length offer that the customer is able to accept, dated within thirty (30) days of the claim, and submitted before the customer's Solar.com agreement is signed.
The BPG cannot be combined with any referral rewards, rebates, promotions, specials, or other discounts provided by Solar.com.
