#577 of 678 scored in California by Solar.com Installer Score

How does Axia Solar compare where you live? Rankings are local; an installer that leads one city can trail in the next. See how they rank in your city →

Why this differs from star ratings: most five-star reviews say “great company” and stop, and star averages reward that. These category scores only count reviews with concrete evidence, weighted by recency and the reviewer’s track record. A company can hold a strong star average while specific categories score lower; that gap is usually where the real story is. Categories with more complaints than praise are the questions worth asking any bidder, not necessarily dealbreakers.

Where Axia Solar builds

County-by-county activity from CPUC records through May 2026.

What this data covers: *Counts on this page, including the totals up top, come from investor-owned-utility interconnection records (SCE, SDG&E, PG&E). Work in municipal-utility territory, such as LADWP or city utilities, and outside California does not appear here, so this company's true totals are higher than shown. Unlike the county rankings, this profile also shows counties below the 250-install ranking floor.

Axia Solar reviews: what customers say

An independent synthesis of published customer feedback across Google and Yelp, updated September 28, 2026. Green marks praise, amber mixed experiences, red complaints.

Sales & proposal integrity

Sales Integrity6.1/10

Reviewers often describe the sales process as clear and low-pressure, with several saying the team explained pricing and installation details well. At the same time, some complaints focus on contract expectations, incentive timing, and situations where the promised outcome did not match the final result.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Clear, low-pressure sales for many. Several reviewers say the sales process was explained clearly, including pricing, plan differences, and what to expect during installation. Some also describe the experience as free of pressure tactics. Representative review excerpt: "Jose Ortiz from Axia by Qcells was our sales associate and he did a great job explaining the solar installation process, the cost depending on which plan you choose, and..."

Promise-and-expectation gaps. Complaint patterns include reports that the final result did not match what was discussed during sales, including roof-related expectations, savings concerns, and project status issues tied to incentives or approvals. Representative review excerpt: "We have had panels installed for more than 7 months just to know that Edison never received certificate to operate."

Price & financing transparency

Price Transparency3.4/10

This category is driven mainly by complaints about pricing, financing, deposits, refunds, and incentive timing. A smaller set of reviewers say the pricing conversation was understandable and helpful, but the balance of feedback is negative.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Many concerns about costs and financing. Reviewers commonly report surprise costs, disputed expectations, and frustration after financing began. Some also mention needing to read agreements carefully and clarify what savings or rebate timing would actually look like. Representative review excerpt: "I strongly recommend that anyone considering Axia by Qcell do their homework, read the PPA extremely carefully, get the promised savings and rebates in writing, and understand exactly what happens..."

Helpful pricing explanations for some. A few reviewers say the team walked them through the design, payment structure, and what the plan would cost. These reviews describe the explanation as straightforward and useful. Representative review excerpt: "The solar design was shown virtually; how it would be installed and what wattage each panel produced; what our payment would be and the benefit of stabilizing the rate as..."

Communication & coordination

Communication5.8/10

Feedback on communication is mixed but leans positive overall. Many reviewers describe responsive coordinators and steady updates, while others report long delays in getting calls or emails returned and say they felt ignored during the project.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Responsive support for many customers. Many reviewers say coordinators and support staff were professional, consistent, and helpful when questions came up. Several describe the team as keeping them informed and staying on top of the project. Representative review excerpt: "I had inquired to multiple solar companies out here in IE Riverside city, and they're the only one that was consistent."

Some report poor follow-up. Complaint patterns focus on missed calls, unanswered emails, and a lack of follow-through after issues were raised. A few reviewers say they had to contact the company repeatedly just to get basic updates. Representative review excerpt: "Communication was terrible from the start, I had to call multiple times just to get a basic update on when work would begin."

Timeline reliability

Timeline Reliability4.9/10

Timeline feedback is mixed, but there are enough complaints to keep this area below average. Some reviewers say the work finished on schedule or even ahead of estimate, while others report delays tied to inspections, permitting, PTO, and start-date changes.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Some projects moved quickly. A number of reviewers say the crew worked efficiently and met deadlines, with some noting the installation finished faster than expected. Others say the process moved along once a new manager or coordinator took over. Representative review excerpt: "They kept all of their promises and all of their deadlines. You can't really ask for more than that and actually when quicker then they estimated"

Delays around approvals and handoffs. Complaint patterns include delayed inspections, postponed PTO, and projects that stretched on for months before activation. Some reviewers also describe schedule changes that were not well communicated. Representative review excerpt: "We have had panels installed for more than 7 months just to know that Edison never received certificate to operate."

Workmanship & site care

Workmanship6.4/10

Most workmanship reviews are positive, with customers often describing professional crews, neat installs, and good cleanup. Still, some complaints mention damage, cleanup problems, and concerns about work quality or how the site was left afterward.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Professional crews and neat installs. Many reviewers describe the installation crew as professional, efficient, and careful with the property. Some also say the team cleaned up well after finishing. Representative review excerpt: "They cleaned up almost as if they were not here at all."

Damage and cleanup complaints. Complaint patterns include reports of messy work areas, incomplete cleanup, and in some cases property damage concerns. A few reviewers also say they had to watch the work closely to make sure everything matched what was installed. Representative review excerpt: "They also left some mess in my backyard and didnt clean up properly after themselves when they finished the wiring."

Long-term support & performance

Long-Term Support6.3/10

Long-term performance reviews are generally favorable, with many customers saying their systems produce well and that tech support resolves issues. However, complaints still appear about post-install support, repair follow-up, and situations where reviewers say system problems were not addressed quickly.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Good production and issue resolution for some. Several reviewers say their systems are producing well and that support staff helped resolve technical issues. Some also report being satisfied once the system was fully working. Representative review excerpt: "When working on Qcell systems and have any issues I contact the tech support and Eduardo and Johnny always solve the issue that I was having in a quick and..."

Repair and post-install support complaints. Complaint patterns include calls going unanswered, repair requests being redirected, and concerns that post-install issues were not resolved promptly. Some reviewers also describe disputes over whether the system was performing as expected. Representative review excerpt: "Calls to the main number for post installation support 888.699.1288 go straight to voicemail - I have called several times at varying hours for the past 3 days."

Bottom line: AXIA SOLAR’s review profile is mixed overall, with stronger feedback on workmanship and some aspects of sales clarity, but weaker results on price transparency and timeline reliability. Communication and long-term support are uneven, and several reviewers report frustration with follow-up, project delays, and post-install issue handling.

Important context: this chart shows investor-owned-utility records only. Companies that shift work toward municipal-utility territory (LADWP and city power departments) or other states will show declining bars here even while building steadily elsewhere, and 2025-26 records also lag real installation dates. Treat this as a partial window, not the company's full trajectory.

How we built this data

Methodology: Counts are residential PV interconnections in investor-owned-utility territory (PG&E, SCE, SDG&E) per CPUC Rule 21 public records through May 2026. Postal and name variants are merged. Municipal utility territory such as LADWP, Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, Anaheim, and Riverside Public Utilities is not included in those CPUC counts. Counts show recorded installations, not quality ratings. Reported costs are self-reported on owned-system interconnections. No installer can pay for placement.

Who we are: Solar.com is a solar marketplace — we connect homeowners with installers and earn a fee when projects move forward. These rankings and scores are computed from public installation records and published customer reviews. No installer can pay for placement, and no installer — including those we work with — can pay to change a score.
