#9 of 678 scored in California by Solar.com Installer Score

How does Connected Technology compare where you live? Rankings are local; an installer that leads one city can trail in the next. See how they rank in your city →

Why this differs from star ratings: most five-star reviews say “great company” and stop, and star averages reward that. These category scores only count reviews with concrete evidence, weighted by recency and the reviewer’s track record. A company can hold a strong star average while specific categories score lower; that gap is usually where the real story is. Categories with more complaints than praise are the questions worth asking any bidder, not necessarily dealbreakers.

Where Connected Technology builds

County-by-county activity from CPUC records through May 2026.

What this data covers: *Counts on this page, including the totals up top, come from investor-owned-utility interconnection records (SCE, SDG&E, PG&E). Work in municipal-utility territory, such as LADWP or city utilities, and outside California does not appear here, so this company's true totals are higher than shown. Unlike the county rankings, this profile also shows counties below the 250-install ranking floor.

Sales & proposal integrity

Sales Integrity7.8/10

Reviewers generally describe the sales and proposal process as clear, helpful, and transparent, with several noting that expectations were explained well and proposals matched the work discussed. A small number of complaints mention concerns with how information was handled during the sales process, so this area reads positive overall but not flawless.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Clear explanations. Many reviewers say the team explained the process well and helped clarify technical details before the job moved forward. Representative review excerpt: "They are very friendly and transparent on the process as they explained me when there was any issues."

Useful proposal guidance. Some customers report that the proposal process surfaced important setup details and helped set more accurate expectations for the project. Representative review excerpt: "Whereas one of the sales people indicated that a meter collar adapter could be used for our two 200 amp subpanels, Roland made me aware that I would require a..."

Isolated sales-process concern. A small number of reviewers describe concerns about how personal information or sales interactions were handled during the initial exchange. Representative review excerpt: "When his app wasn't working he took a screenshot of my social security number and said we would be in touch."

Price & financing transparency

Price Transparency8.0/10

Reviewers mostly describe pricing as understandable or worthwhile, and several say the cost felt justified by the service or system value. There are a few complaints about higher-than-expected charges or quotes, but they appear to be a small minority in the review set.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Cost felt justified. Several reviewers say the pricing made sense for the scope of work and felt reasonable given the service they received. Representative review excerpt: "I found the cost justifiable."

Value and return. Some customers describe the investment as worthwhile and mention strong perceived value from the system and service. Representative review excerpt: "Now that’s a good return on an investment thanks Bill and your team for always providing great service."

A few pricing complaints. A small number of reviewers mention unexpectedly high quotes or charges that changed from the original estimate. Representative review excerpt: "Super unprofessional for the quote to be $95 and he did not have to complete any excess work for the price to increase but we were charged $129."

Communication & coordination

Communication8.9/10

Communication is one of the strongest themes in the review corpus, with many customers describing responsive updates, steady coordination, and helpful follow-through across projects. A few reviewers report delays in responses or needing to reach out repeatedly, but those complaints are rare relative to the volume of praise.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Frequent updates. Reviewers often say the office and field teams kept them informed throughout the project and worked around scheduling needs. Representative review excerpt: "The front office staff provided constant updates and worked with our crazy schedule to make sure we were taken care of."

Responsive project handling. Many customers describe a smooth experience with consistent coordination from start to finish, including multiple projects over time. Representative review excerpt: "We've used CT for THREE major projects now: Tesla storage batteries and two different solar installations."

Occasional follow-up gaps. A few reviewers report having to call or email repeatedly to get updates or keep the job moving. Representative review excerpt: "After having to call and email several times throughout the project in order to receive updates and keep the ball rolling, I started to get a little frustrated."

Timeline reliability

Timeline Reliability8.0/10

Most reviewers say scheduling and installation timing were handled well, with many noting punctual arrivals and efficient work. There are some mentions of delays tied to permits, appointment backlogs, or project hiccups, so timing reliability is strong overall but not uniform.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

On-time installs. Several reviewers say technicians arrived on schedule and completed the work quickly once on site. Representative review excerpt: "On the day of the install, my technician, Aidan B., gave me a courtesy call an hour in advance and arrived right on time."

Good coordination across steps. Some customers report that paperwork, design, permits, and scheduling were managed as part of a coordinated process. Representative review excerpt: "All the work they did for our project, from all the paperwork, designs, including plans to submit to our HOA to permits, their communication, scheduling of dates and the actual..."

Delays and backlog concerns. A few reviewers describe waiting longer than expected for appointments or seeing project delays before completion. Representative review excerpt: "We had to wait months for an appt (due to the rush in solar for tax rebates), then once our appt finally came up, it turned out that the company..."

Workmanship & site care

Workmanship9.3/10

Installation workmanship is viewed very positively overall, with extensive praise for professional crews, solid execution, and clean job sites. Only one complaint pattern appears in the evidence, and it is isolated relative to the large amount of praise.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Professional crews. Reviewers frequently describe the installers as skilled, courteous, and careful during the job. Representative review excerpt: "Just had Joel and his crew out for a Tesla wall charger install."

Strong install quality. Many customers say the finished work looked good and met expectations, including system and battery installations. Representative review excerpt: "We had them install our Tesla batteries, and we couldn't be more satisfied with the entire experience."

Isolated workmanship concerns. One reviewer mentions concerns and issues that lowered the overall experience despite the project being delivered. Representative review excerpt: "Bill and his crew delivered the project as promised but there were a number of concerns and issues that made whole experience lower than all the other reviews on yelp."

Long-term support & performance

Long-Term Support8.9/10

Post-install feedback is strongly positive, with reviewers describing systems that work well and ongoing support that remains helpful after activation. A small number of complaints mention service or replacement pricing concerns, but the dominant pattern is continued satisfaction with performance and support.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Systems working well. Several reviewers say their systems have performed well after installation and that the company stood behind the work. Representative review excerpt: "The system looks great, works flawlessly, and we feel confident knowing we chose a company that truly stands behind what they do."

Ongoing service relationship. Some customers describe coming back for additional projects or support over multiple years, which suggests durable post-install engagement. Representative review excerpt: "We've used CT for THREE major projects now: Tesla storage batteries and two different solar installations."

Service-pricing concern. A small number of reviewers say a repair or replacement quote felt high relative to the work involved. Representative review excerpt: "They wanted $4500 to install a similar, yet lower quality inverter (retails for about $1500), leaving about $3000 of the bill for not more than 4 man-hours of work in..."

Bottom line: Connected Technology’s review profile is strongest in workmanship, communication, and long-term support, with especially high praise for installation quality and project coordination. The main watch-outs are a few complaints about sales details, pricing, and occasional timing or follow-up delays, but those issues are limited relative to the overall volume of positive feedback.

Important context: this chart shows investor-owned-utility records only. Companies that shift work toward municipal-utility territory (LADWP and city power departments) or other states will show declining bars here even while building steadily elsewhere, and 2025-26 records also lag real installation dates. Treat this as a partial window, not the company's full trajectory.

How we built this data

Methodology: Counts are residential PV interconnections in investor-owned-utility territory (PG&E, SCE, SDG&E) per CPUC Rule 21 public records through May 2026. Postal and name variants are merged. Municipal utility territory such as LADWP, Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, Anaheim, and Riverside Public Utilities is not included in those CPUC counts. Counts show recorded installations, not quality ratings. Reported costs are self-reported on owned-system interconnections. No installer can pay for placement.

Who we are: Solar.com is a solar marketplace — we connect homeowners with installers and earn a fee when projects move forward. These rankings and scores are computed from public installation records and published customer reviews. No installer can pay for placement, and no installer — including those we work with — can pay to change a score.
