How does Enlightened Solar compare where you live? Rankings are local; an installer that leads one city can trail in the next. See how they rank in your city →

Why this differs from star ratings: most five-star reviews say “great company” and stop, and star averages reward that. These category scores only count reviews with concrete evidence, weighted by recency and the reviewer’s track record. A company can hold a strong star average while specific categories score lower; that gap is usually where the real story is. Categories with more complaints than praise are the questions worth asking any bidder, not necessarily dealbreakers.

Where Enlightened Solar builds

County-by-county activity from CPUC records through May 2026.

What this data covers: *Counts on this page, including the totals up top, come from investor-owned-utility interconnection records (SCE, SDG&E, PG&E). Work in municipal-utility territory, such as LADWP or city utilities, and outside California does not appear here, so this company's true totals are higher than shown. Unlike the county rankings, this profile also shows counties below the 250-install ranking floor.

Enlightened Solar reviews: what customers say

An independent synthesis of published customer feedback, updated September 23, 2026. Green marks praise, amber mixed experiences, red complaints.

Sales & proposal integrity

Sales Integrity7.0/10

Reviewers give mixed but somewhat favorable feedback on the sales process. Several describe clear explanations, patience, and no-pressure consultations, while a smaller set report concerns about expectations and contract-related issues.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Clear, low-pressure sales conversations. Some reviewers say the sales team took time to answer questions, explained options clearly, and did not push unnecessary add-ons. Representative review excerpt: "I felt more comfortable with them, they took time to answer my questions they allowed me to take the time I needed to make the decision they did not pressure..."

Helpful guidance on benefits. Reviewers also describe representatives as honest and focused on helping them understand the value of the system rather than upselling. Representative review excerpt: "He told us about the great benefits but at the same time he did NOT try to upsale product by getting us to buy things he really did not think..."

Expectations and process concerns. A smaller group reports problems tied to permit handling and later project expectations, which lowers confidence in the proposal-to-install experience. Representative review excerpt: "Carrying out installations without any type of state permit simply to receive payment, and then the customers have to pay double billing at Duke plus finance charges."

Price & financing transparency

Price Transparency5.3/10

Feedback on pricing and financing is notably negative overall. Reviewers most often describe unexpected costs, refund problems, and being left making payments while the system was still not operating or connected.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Upfront payment and refund issues. Reviewers report paying deposits or fees for work they say was not completed, then struggling to get a refund or any follow-up. Representative review excerpt: "Payed 950.00 for engineer drawings and never received drawings , refund or another phone call from Harold ."

Double-payment concerns. Several describe continuing electric bills alongside solar-related payments, which they say created a heavier-than-expected financial burden during the project. Representative review excerpt: "I've been paying for two services for 4 months, Lakeland Electric, and paying the bill for the solar panels, no one responds, no emails, no calls, the office in Spring..."

Ongoing financing while system is delayed. Some reviewers say the system was not operational for months, yet loan or financing payments still continued during that period. Representative review excerpt: "It's been 10 months now and my system is not operational yet and I have been making payments to the lender and my electric bill!!!!!"

Communication & coordination

Communication5.6/10

Communication is one of the weakest areas in the review set. While a few customers mention helpful guidance and periodic updates, most describe poor responsiveness, missed calls, and difficulty reaching anyone once the project was underway.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Hard to reach after the sale. Many reviewers report that calls and emails went unanswered, that contacts stopped responding, or that they could not get clear ownership of the project. Representative review excerpt: "Initially everything went well but now they have gone MIA and we can’t get anyone on the phone or email to respond."

Helpful updates for some customers. A small number of reviewers say they received a reasonable window for follow-up and were kept informed enough to move the process forward. Representative review excerpt: "It took a little bit longer for a couple of the panels to come online but they gave me a window to watch it and then call back if it..."

No-pressure consults and questions answered. Some reviewers also connect good communication with the sales phase, saying their questions were answered and they felt comfortable moving ahead. Representative review excerpt: "He told us about the great benefits but at the same time he did NOT try to upsale product by getting us to buy things he really did not think..."

Timeline reliability

Timeline Reliability5.4/10

Timeline performance is mixed to negative, with most reviewers describing delays around permits, inspections, and activation. A few customers say installation moved quickly, but many others report long waits before the system was ready to produce power.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Delays, no-shows, and activation lag. Many reviewers report missed appointments, slow inspections, and long delays before final activation or production began. Representative review excerpt: "3 months of no answer as to when the final inspection will be done or when my system will be turned on."

Quick installation for some projects. A small number of reviewers say the installation itself moved quickly and the service felt efficient from their perspective. Representative review excerpt: "I bought my solar system from this company they installed it very quickly I'm taking a good service I totally recommend them"

Good experience during the decision window. Some reviewers describe a smoother early process, with time to decide and a manageable pace before the project moved ahead. Representative review excerpt: "I felt more comfortable with them, they took time to answer my questions they allowed me to take the time I needed to make the decision they did not pressure..."

Workmanship & site care

Workmanship6.0/10

Reports on workmanship and site care lean negative. Reviewers describe messy job sites, missed appointments, and installations that later needed corrections or repairs, with few clear positive comments in this category.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Missed appointments during installation work. Some reviewers say crews did not show up as scheduled, including for removal and reinstallation work tied to the project. Representative review excerpt: "Stood us up 2 times , once for a great neighbor to remove and reinstall his system and was supposed to remove and reinstall our system !!!!!!"

Job site cleanup concerns. Reviewers also describe leaving behind a mess after inspections or installation-related work, suggesting weak site care. Representative review excerpt: "They left an absolute mess, after every inspection done by pinellas county be failed."

Repair issues after installation. A number of customers report later problems with the panels or related work that required out-of-pocket repairs. Representative review excerpt: "We have had issues with the panels they installed and have to pay for repairs out of pocket."

Long-term support & performance

Long-Term Support6.7/10

Post-install feedback is mixed, with a handful of positive comments but a heavier volume of complaints about systems not coming online, repair needs, and limited support after installation. Reviewers who had a better experience generally point to better-than-expected bill reduction or responsive early help.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Systems not working or needing repairs. Many reviewers report that their systems did not operate as expected, stayed offline for long periods, or later required repairs they had to cover themselves. Representative review excerpt: "It's been 10 months now and my system is not operational yet and I have been making payments to the lender and my electric bill!!!!!"

Positive production or bill reduction. Some reviewers say the system eventually helped reduce their electric bill and that the outcome met their expectations. Representative review excerpt: "Super nice and honest people,, a million thanks to Harold and Alfredo for helping us reduce our electric bill from 225$ a month to the 35$ minimum that our electric..."

Comfort with the process. A few customers also describe a reassuring experience with the team, including patience during the decision stage. Representative review excerpt: "I felt more comfortable with them, they took time to answer my questions they allowed me to take the time I needed to make the decision they did not pressure..."

Bottom line: ENLIGHTENED SOLAR’s review profile is mixed overall, with a headline score of 6.6/10 and the strongest concerns centered on communication, project timing, workmanship, and post-install follow-up. Reviewers are more positive about the sales conversation itself than about the financing, installation, and long-term support experience.

Important context: this chart shows investor-owned-utility records only. Companies that shift work toward municipal-utility territory (LADWP and city power departments) or other states will show declining bars here even while building steadily elsewhere, and 2025-26 records also lag real installation dates. Treat this as a partial window, not the company's full trajectory.

How we built this data

Methodology: Counts are residential PV interconnections in investor-owned-utility territory (PG&E, SCE, SDG&E) per CPUC Rule 21 public records through May 2026. Postal and name variants are merged. Municipal utility territory such as LADWP, Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, Anaheim, and Riverside Public Utilities is not included in those CPUC counts. Counts show recorded installations, not quality ratings. Reported costs are self-reported on owned-system interconnections. No installer can pay for placement.

Who we are: Solar.com is a solar marketplace — we connect homeowners with installers and earn a fee when projects move forward. These rankings and scores are computed from public installation records and published customer reviews. No installer can pay for placement, and no installer — including those we work with — can pay to change a score.
