How does Equisolar compare where you live? Rankings are local; an installer that leads one city can trail in the next. See how they rank in your city →

Why this differs from star ratings: most five-star reviews say “great company” and stop, and star averages reward that. These category scores only count reviews with concrete evidence, weighted by recency and the reviewer’s track record. A company can hold a strong star average while specific categories score lower; that gap is usually where the real story is. Categories with more complaints than praise are the questions worth asking any bidder, not necessarily dealbreakers.

Where Equisolar builds

County-by-county activity from CPUC records through May 2026.

What this data covers: *Counts on this page, including the totals up top, come from investor-owned-utility interconnection records (SCE, SDG&E, PG&E). Work in municipal-utility territory, such as LADWP or city utilities, and outside California does not appear here, so this company's true totals are higher than shown. Unlike the county rankings, this profile also shows counties below the 250-install ranking floor.

Equisolar reviews: what customers say

An independent synthesis of published customer feedback, updated September 23, 2026. Green marks praise, amber mixed experiences, red complaints.

Sales & proposal integrity

Sales Integrity4.4/10

Reviewers give a mixed-to-negative picture of the sales and proposal process. Some describe helpful, informative reps and clear explanations, while a similar number report pressure, confusing expectations, and contracts that did not match what they believed was promised.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Helpful explanations. Some reviewers say the sales process was informative and that representatives took time to explain how the system worked and provide pricing clearly. Representative review excerpt: "I met with Charlie from Equisolar about two years ago, he came over in an Equisolar shirt and badge, explained how everything works, and then gave me a price."

Easy sign-up experience. A portion of reviewers describe the sign-up and quoting process as straightforward and say they received answers to their questions. Representative review excerpt: "Michael Garcia was super helpful , informative and made it so easy for me to sign up!"

Pressure and contract concerns. Other reviewers report feeling rushed, pressured, or misled about what they were agreeing to, including concerns about panels being left on-site or work starting before they felt ready. Responsive team members. Some reviewers say individual staff members were communicative, helpful, and willing to answer questions throughout the project. Representative review excerpt: "Thanks to Rostin for his communication throughout the entirety of the job"

Good problem follow-up. A few reviewers note that the company later reached out and made efforts to address issues after a complaint was raised. Representative review excerpt: "I Had an issue with the company, they have since reached out and come out of their way to fix it."

Bottom line: EQUISOLAR’s review profile is mixed, but the lower-scoring categories point to recurring concerns around communication, timing, pricing clarity, and post-install support. There are also positive mentions of helpful sales reps, professional crews, and some successful installs, but the complaint patterns are frequent enough to keep the overall sentiment cautious.

Important context: this chart shows investor-owned-utility records only. Companies that shift work toward municipal-utility territory (LADWP and city power departments) or other states will show declining bars here even while building steadily elsewhere, and 2025-26 records also lag real installation dates. Treat this as a partial window, not the company's full trajectory.

How we built this data

Methodology: Counts are residential PV interconnections in investor-owned-utility territory (PG&E, SCE, SDG&E) per CPUC Rule 21 public records through May 2026. Postal and name variants are merged. Municipal utility territory such as LADWP, Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, Anaheim, and Riverside Public Utilities is not included in those CPUC counts. Counts show recorded installations, not quality ratings. Reported costs are self-reported on owned-system interconnections. No installer can pay for placement.

Who we are: Solar.com is a solar marketplace — we connect homeowners with installers and earn a fee when projects move forward. These rankings and scores are computed from public installation records and published customer reviews. No installer can pay for placement, and no installer — including those we work with — can pay to change a score.
