How does Skytech Solar compare where you live? Rankings are local; an installer that leads one city can trail in the next. See how they rank in your city →

Why this differs from star ratings: most five-star reviews say “great company” and stop, and star averages reward that. These category scores only count reviews with concrete evidence, weighted by recency and the reviewer’s track record. A company can hold a strong star average while specific categories score lower; that gap is usually where the real story is. Categories with more complaints than praise are the questions worth asking any bidder, not necessarily dealbreakers.

Where Skytech Solar builds

County-by-county activity from CPUC records through May 2026.

What this data covers: *Counts on this page, including the totals up top, come from investor-owned-utility interconnection records (SCE, SDG&E, PG&E). Work in municipal-utility territory, such as LADWP or city utilities, and outside California does not appear here, so this company's true totals are higher than shown. Unlike the county rankings, this profile also shows counties below the 250-install ranking floor.

Skytech Solar reviews: what customers say

An independent synthesis of published customer feedback, updated September 28, 2026. Green marks praise, amber mixed experiences, red complaints.

Sales & proposal integrity

Sales Integrity7.2/10

Reviewers generally describe Skytech Solar’s sales process as clear and informative, with multiple comments about straightforward proposals, low-pressure interactions, and staff who could explain system details. A small number of complaints mention contract expectations or post-review follow-up issues, but the overall pattern is favorable.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Clear, technical sales conversations. Reviewers say the team could explain system components in detail and provide spec and cut sheets, which helped them feel informed during the buying process. Representative review excerpt: "Unlike any of the other 8 companies I got estimates from, these folks could actually 'talk shop' with me, provide me with spec- and cut-sheets for the system components, and..."

Low-pressure quoting. Several reviewers report that the sales approach felt straightforward rather than pushy, and some say the pricing helped them narrow down their choice. Representative review excerpt: "I was pleased there was no high pressure sales like others I had dealt with."

A few contract or follow-up concerns. A small number of reviewers describe disagreements about contract terms, schedule expectations, or post-install follow-up, so this area is not uniformly smooth. Representative review excerpt: "Update after posting this review: the CEO clarified it was 45 working days (was not specified by their salesperson or in the contract) which means the installation started on the..."

Price & financing transparency

Price Transparency6.7/10

At the same time, a few comments point to confusion around incentives, reimbursement timing, or other unexpected cost-related issues.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Pricing pricing. Reviewers commonly say Skytech’s pricing was among the lowest quotes they received or better than expected for the system they wanted. Representative review excerpt: "With the price and specials I narrowed it down to the 3 lowest quotes I had gotten in conjunction with the panels that I wanted."

Transparent enough for some buyers. Some reviewers report that the price and specials made the decision easier, and that the overall buying process felt smooth. Representative review excerpt: "We could have gone with SolarCity which is now part of Tesla ie a large corporate, but the price Skytech offered was the best and the sales process was smooth."

A few incentive and cost concerns. A minority of reviewers describe confusion around rebate timing, paperwork-related costs, or service charges for follow-up support, which makes this category more mixed than strongly positive. Representative review excerpt: "I would recommend that you should have the $2700 check paid to Skytech and they then will reimburse you, thus saving possible income tax on this rebate."

Communication & coordination

Communication6.3/10

Reviewers often describe responsive and helpful communication during the sales and scheduling stages, including quick replies and clear explanations. But a meaningful share of complaints says follow-up can break down after installation, with slow callbacks, unanswered messages, or confusion over responsibility.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Responsive during early coordination. Several reviewers say the team answered questions quickly and kept them informed as the project moved forward. Representative review excerpt: "Before my decision, they were not pushy but were very quick to respond to all my questions."

Clear handoffs for some customers. Some reviewers describe a smooth contract and scheduling experience, with the crew showing up as expected and keeping them in the loop. Representative review excerpt: "They showed up as scheduled, the contract was easy to follow and am very happy with Skytech and the system they installed."

Post-install support can stall. Complaints often focus on non-returned calls, delayed responses, or difficulty getting someone to take ownership once issues came up after the job was done. Representative review excerpt: "sad - OUT OF BUSINESS - no notification to customers, just non-returned phone calls and emails."

Timeline reliability

Timeline Reliability6.1/10

Timeline feedback is mixed. Many reviewers say installations happened on schedule or that the team stayed in touch about scheduling windows, while others report delays tied to permitting, inspection, activation, or post-install fixes.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Scheduled starts and updates. Some reviewers report that the crew arrived when expected and that scheduling updates were communicated along the way. Representative review excerpt: "John answered our many questions and always stayed in touch with us, to keep us in the loop of potential install windows (the darn rain!) and when they might schedule..."

Quick completion in some cases. A few customers say the system was up and running the same day, with only the usual waiting period for inspection and utility certification afterward. Representative review excerpt: "Up and running same day, but had to wait for the final inspection and then PG&E certification a few days later."

Delays do appear in reviews. Other reviewers describe schedules slipping beyond the original window, including longer waits from permitting to installation or extended delays before service was restored. Representative review excerpt: "That was nevertheless 71 days from permitting whereas the contract had stipulated an installation within 45 days, a significant delay even after accounting for Thanksgiving and Christmas."

Workmanship & site care

Workmanship7.2/10

Most workmanship reviews are favorable and describe professional crews, solid installation quality, and good cleanup. The complaint pattern is narrower but still real, centering on occasional damage, repair quality, or equipment-related fix-ups after the original install.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Professional crews. Reviewers frequently mention hardworking installers who finished the job carefully and stayed on task through completion. Representative review excerpt: "A big thank you to Skytech Solar and their hard working 'Crew of 5' led by Terrance who came to install our solar panels yesterday, and didn't stop until all..."

Installation quality is often praised. Some reviewers describe the installation as well done and note that the system has performed smoothly afterward. Representative review excerpt: "Up and running same day, but had to wait for the final inspection and then PG&E certification a few days later."

A few site-care issues. A small number of reviews mention repair problems or damage during related work, which suggests workmanship is usually strong but not spotless. Representative review excerpt: "(D) While installing the new system, they found the 2016 system piping was coming apart at the joints on the roof, exposing the insulated wires to the elements There was..."

Long-term support & performance

Long-Term Support5.0/10

This is the weakest area in the review set. While some customers report good production, helpful follow-up, and smooth troubleshooting, a sizable share of complaints says support can be slow or hard to reach after the system is operating.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Some systems produce well. A number of reviewers say their systems are generating strong output and that they are satisfied with the longer-term performance. Representative review excerpt: "Lowest production day ~10 KWh Highest production day ~47 KWh I was calculating (roughly) payoff with my system in conjunction with EV replacing one gas car and I calculated a..."

Helpful repairs for some owners. Some reviewers report that specific staff members helped get panels fixed or systems running more consistently after issues came up. Representative review excerpt: "Danny (or Daniel) was able great is getting our solar panels fixed and set up!"

Support can be slow after installation. Complaints often focus on inverter or system problems that linger for weeks or months, with customers saying follow-up support was difficult to obtain. Representative review excerpt: "Very bad company todo business with we had our Inverter fail and for months nothing has being done lots of emails and phone calls."

Bottom line: Skytech Solar’s review profile is strongest on sales clarity, pricing competitiveness, and installation workmanship, with many reviewers describing a straightforward buying process and capable crews. The most consistent weak spot is long-term support after activation, where reviewers more often report slow follow-up, unresolved equipment issues, or difficulty reaching someone for help. Overall, the pattern is mixed-to-positive, with better experiences concentrated before and during installation than after the system is turned on.

Important context: this chart shows investor-owned-utility records only. Companies that shift work toward municipal-utility territory (LADWP and city power departments) or other states will show declining bars here even while building steadily elsewhere, and 2025-26 records also lag real installation dates. Treat this as a partial window, not the company's full trajectory.

How we built this data

Methodology: Counts are residential PV interconnections in investor-owned-utility territory (PG&E, SCE, SDG&E) per CPUC Rule 21 public records through May 2026. Postal and name variants are merged. Municipal utility territory such as LADWP, Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, Anaheim, and Riverside Public Utilities is not included in those CPUC counts. Counts show recorded installations, not quality ratings. Reported costs are self-reported on owned-system interconnections. No installer can pay for placement.

Who we are: Solar.com is a solar marketplace — we connect homeowners with installers and earn a fee when projects move forward. These rankings and scores are computed from public installation records and published customer reviews. No installer can pay for placement, and no installer — including those we work with — can pay to change a score.
