#584 of 678 scored in California by Solar.com Installer Score

How does Solarco compare where you live? Rankings are local; an installer that leads one city can trail in the next. See how they rank in your city →

Why this differs from star ratings: most five-star reviews say “great company” and stop, and star averages reward that. These category scores only count reviews with concrete evidence, weighted by recency and the reviewer’s track record. A company can hold a strong star average while specific categories score lower; that gap is usually where the real story is. Categories with more complaints than praise are the questions worth asking any bidder, not necessarily dealbreakers.

Where Solarco builds

County-by-county activity from CPUC records through May 2026.

What this data covers: *Counts on this page, including the totals up top, come from investor-owned-utility interconnection records (SCE, SDG&E, PG&E). Work in municipal-utility territory, such as LADWP or city utilities, and outside California does not appear here, so this company's true totals are higher than shown. Unlike the county rankings, this profile also shows counties below the 250-install ranking floor.

Solarco reviews: what customers say

An independent synthesis of published customer feedback, updated September 28, 2026. Green marks praise, amber mixed experiences, red complaints.

Sales & proposal integrity

Sales Integrity5.4/10

Reviewers give a mixed picture of SolarCo’s sales process. Many describe clear explanations of system sizing, financing options, and solar basics, but a similar number report pushy outreach, inconsistent follow-through, or proposals that did not fully match later on-site realities. The pattern suggests some customers felt well informed while others felt the sales experience created confusion or pressure.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Clearer sales conversations. Some reviewers say the sales consultation was thorough and helped them understand how solar, system sizing, and financing options would work for their home. Representative review excerpt: "The representative was great and thoroughly explained how solar works, what sized system would benefit my wife and I based on our energy usage, cash/financing options etc."

Pushy or persistent outreach. Other reviewers describe aggressive outbound contact or door-to-door solicitation that felt intrusive and hard to stop. Representative review excerpt: "They have the worst outbound sales team that will NOT take you off a list."

Proposal and expectation gaps. Some reviewers report that later installation details did not fully match what they believed had been explained during sales, including fit, monitoring, or closing expectations. Representative review excerpt: "Somehow, when they first "completed" the install they did not realize the electrical panel was too small and that they did not have enough room for all the proper monitoring..."

Price & financing transparency

Price Transparency5.4/10

Feedback on pricing and financing is mixed. Some reviewers say the pricing conversation and loan options were explained well, while others mention pushy financing discussions, billing surprises, or uncertainty about deposits, repayment timing, or incentive timing. Overall, reviewers more often describe concern about what the full cost would mean over time than praise for transparency.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Push toward financing. A few reviewers report feeling pressured to choose financing even after saying they preferred another approach. Representative review excerpt: "The only thing i didn't like was that the sales rep was extremely pushy for me to go with their financing even though i repeatedly told him i did not..."

Billing and incentive confusion. Other reviewers mention billing issues or say parts of the true-up or rebate timing were not fully explained at the start. Representative review excerpt: "I came to find out that everything wasn't explained to us as far as the True up bill was concerned."

Helpful cost discussion. Some reviewers say the representative clearly walked them through usage, system size, and cash or financing choices before they moved forward. Representative review excerpt: "The representative was great and thoroughly explained how solar works, what sized system would benefit my wife and I based on our energy usage, cash/financing options etc."

Communication & coordination

Communication6.0/10

Communication receives a mixed-to-slightly-positive response. Many reviewers describe responsive staff, regular updates, and helpful coordination during the project, but a meaningful share say calls or emails went unanswered or that support became harder to reach after the install. The score reflects decent day-to-day coordination with recurring complaints about follow-up and ownership.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Responsive project support. Several reviewers say SolarCo staff were professional, easy to reach with questions, and kept them posted on progress. Representative review excerpt: "All in all, we are impressed with the professionalism and responsiveness that SolarCo has provided throughout the process and look forward to the coming months and years of having a..."

Updates during the job. Some reviewers report that the team kept them informed through installation and inspection steps. Representative review excerpt: ":) Very friendly staff, they kept us posted on all installation services and inspections."

Hard to reach after the sale. Other reviewers say calls and emails were not returned consistently, especially when they needed post-install help or follow-up. Representative review excerpt: "They won't even return calls and emails."

Timeline reliability

Timeline Reliability6.7/10

Timeline feedback is generally positive, though not spotless. Reviewers often say permits, installation, and inspections moved along at a reasonable pace, but some also describe delays tied to design changes, utility steps, or unclear post-install next actions. The main theme is that the schedule often worked, but a few customers experienced a slower path to activation than expected.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Fast permit and install turnaround. Some reviewers say permits were obtained quickly and the panels were installed soon after signing. Representative review excerpt: "They ended up getting the permit within a few days and the panels were on my roof 1-2 weeks after I signed the contract."

Clear handling of inspections. Other reviewers say the team kept them updated on installations and inspections and handled the process without major delay. Representative review excerpt: ":) Very friendly staff, they kept us posted on all installation services and inspections."

Activation delays and loose handoff. A smaller set of reviewers report delays after installation, including waiting on utility steps or not being sure what remained to be completed. Representative review excerpt: "After installation we were kind of left hanging on what was still needed to be done, paperwork and inspections."

Workmanship & site care

Workmanship7.9/10

Workmanship is one of SolarCo’s strongest areas. Reviewers frequently describe professional crews, careful planning, and solid installation quality, and the complaint tally is small relative to the positive feedback. Still, a few reviewers mention roof-tile damage, panel placement concerns, or follow-up work needed to correct the install.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Professional crew behavior. Many reviewers describe the installers as respectful, organized, and efficient while working on site. Representative review excerpt: "They are very organized and everything was done very fast and professionally."

Careful system planning. Some reviewers say the team inspected the roof and electrical setup carefully before deciding what was needed for permitting and operation. Representative review excerpt: "Their tech performed a careful inspection of our roof exposure and our electrical system to determine if any modifications were needed for successful system permitting requirements and operation."

A few site-quality issues. A small number of reviewers report workmanship concerns such as roof-tile damage or panel placement that needed to be corrected. Representative review excerpt: "Lastly, the crews installing the panels broke a number of our roof tiles."

Long-term support & performance

Long-Term Support5.0/10

Post-install feedback is mixed and leans negative. Many reviewers say their systems are producing well and that the app or production results look good, but others report difficulty getting service after turn-on or needing support years later. The review set suggests initial performance can be strong while long-term support is less consistent.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Strong system output. Several reviewers say their systems have continued working well and that they can see useful production data after installation. Representative review excerpt: "This is a great investment we're able to see the impact of our system by accessing the app, viewing how much production we have each day, week, month and billing..."

Longer-term performance remains solid. Some reviewers report that their systems were still working well years after install. Representative review excerpt: "SolarCo installed my system 7-Years ago and the system is still working great."

Support can be hard to reach later. Other reviewers say they had trouble getting post-install help or contacting the company when they needed follow-up service. Representative review excerpt: "Seems like the phone number on my paperwork doesn't connect me to solarco my battery is in need of an up grade after five years an now I can't get..."

Bottom line: SolarCo’s reviews show stronger marks for installation quality and decent marks for scheduling, but more mixed feedback on sales, pricing, communication, and long-term support. The overall pattern is that many customers report a smooth install and working system, while a meaningful group describes issues with transparency, follow-up, or getting help after the project was complete.

Important context: this chart shows investor-owned-utility records only. Companies that shift work toward municipal-utility territory (LADWP and city power departments) or other states will show declining bars here even while building steadily elsewhere, and 2025-26 records also lag real installation dates. Treat this as a partial window, not the company's full trajectory.

How we built this data

Methodology: Counts are residential PV interconnections in investor-owned-utility territory (PG&E, SCE, SDG&E) per CPUC Rule 21 public records through May 2026. Postal and name variants are merged. Municipal utility territory such as LADWP, Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, Anaheim, and Riverside Public Utilities is not included in those CPUC counts. Counts show recorded installations, not quality ratings. Reported costs are self-reported on owned-system interconnections. No installer can pay for placement.

Who we are: Solar.com is a solar marketplace — we connect homeowners with installers and earn a fee when projects move forward. These rankings and scores are computed from public installation records and published customer reviews. No installer can pay for placement, and no installer — including those we work with — can pay to change a score.
