#563 of 678 scored in California by Solar.com Installer Score

How does Solaron compare where you live? Rankings are local; an installer that leads one city can trail in the next. See how they rank in your city →

Why this differs from star ratings: most five-star reviews say “great company” and stop, and star averages reward that. These category scores only count reviews with concrete evidence, weighted by recency and the reviewer’s track record. A company can hold a strong star average while specific categories score lower; that gap is usually where the real story is. Categories with more complaints than praise are the questions worth asking any bidder, not necessarily dealbreakers.

Where Solaron builds

County-by-county activity from CPUC records through May 2026.

What this data covers: *Counts on this page, including the totals up top, come from investor-owned-utility interconnection records (SCE, SDG&E, PG&E). Work in municipal-utility territory, such as LADWP or city utilities, and outside California does not appear here, so this company's true totals are higher than shown. Unlike the county rankings, this profile also shows counties below the 250-install ranking floor.

Solaron reviews: what customers say

An independent synthesis of published customer feedback across Google and Yelp, updated September 28, 2026. Green marks praise, amber mixed experiences, red complaints.

Sales & proposal integrity

Sales Integrity6.7/10

Reviewers more often describe the sales process as clear and informative than not, with several noting straightforward explanations, helpful product comparisons, and expectations that matched the project. Still, a smaller set of reviews report delays in scheduling, unmet promises, and frustration when communication broke down around the proposal or follow-through.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Clear product explanations. Several reviewers say the sales visit helped them understand product differences and feel more confident about the proposal. These accounts describe a straightforward presentation rather than a pressured pitch. Representative review excerpt: "I was impressed with the Solaron sales person who came out and the way he explained the difference in the different solar products."

Helpful onboarding and scheduling. Some customers report that the team explained how everything would work and coordinated install timing around their schedule. That said, the category also includes complaints about delayed estimates and unmet expectations. Representative review excerpt: "including an install date that worked with my schedule."

Broken follow-through. A smaller but notable set of reviewers say promises were not kept or that communication stalled after the sale. Those reviews describe uncertainty about what would be delivered and when. Representative review excerpt: "We still do not have the panel as promised by the owner, Ron Harbeck, and Harbeck has been avoiding all communication we have attempted."

Price & financing transparency

Price Transparency5.7/10

Feedback on pricing and financing is mixed, with some reviewers describing reasonable cost and clear quoting. Others report frustration with refund handling, payment requests, or surprise issues tied to pricing and timing, which keeps this category below the stronger operational scores.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Reasonable pricing for some. Several reviewers describe the pricing as reasonable or say they received a free quote with clear explanation of the system. These comments suggest the cost conversation was straightforward for part of the customer base. Representative review excerpt: "Great products… Great people… reasonable cost… win, win, win"

Some quote and payment friction. Other reviewers report dissatisfaction with final costs, payment expectations, or refund handling. In those accounts, pricing concerns are tied to unresolved service issues as well as incentive timing or reimbursement questions. Representative review excerpt: "Ron the owner instead of owning up to the mistakes is demanding full payment for a system that doesn't work."

Refund handling concerns. A few reviews specifically mention receiving a partial refund check or similar follow-up that left them unhappy with how money was handled. These reports point to uneven transparency after the initial sale. Representative review excerpt: "Unfortunately, I recieved a $250 check stating the money from the app was going to be refunded and to accept this check instead."

Communication & coordination

Communication5.8/10

Reviewers frequently praise responsiveness, clear communication, and polite coordination during active projects. Even so, complaints about callbacks, delayed responses, and difficulty reaching the right person are common enough to make communication one of the weaker categories overall.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Responsive during active projects. Many reviewers say the team was responsive by phone or email and kept them informed during the work. These comments often pair communication with a smooth installation experience. Representative review excerpt: "very detail oriented and responsive..."

Clear day-of communication. Some customers report that the installation team explained the process clearly and stayed in contact through completion. These reviews describe a well-coordinated job once the project was underway. Representative review excerpt: "The actual installation went great, everything was communicated clearly, and by mid-afternoon of the that day the solar was heating the pool."

Callback problems. A meaningful share of reviewers say they struggled to get callbacks or reach someone who could resolve the issue. These accounts describe slow follow-up and gaps in customer support after the initial contact. Representative review excerpt: "Seriously reconsider using this company if you expect callbacks and a standard level of service or communication."

Timeline reliability

Timeline Reliability6.3/10

Timeline feedback leans positive overall, with several reviewers saying crews arrived on time and the project moved quickly once scheduled. Still, there are multiple reports of delays in estimates, start dates, or installation timing, so schedule reliability appears uneven.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

On-time installs. Several reviewers say the installation team showed up on time and completed the work as scheduled. Those reviews describe a straightforward install day with little disruption. Representative review excerpt: "On the day of install they showed up on time, the installer was a nice guy, and explained everything."

Quick turnaround after install. Some customers report that the project moved fast once work began, with the system operating the same day. These comments suggest good execution once the job was underway. Representative review excerpt: "The actual installation went great, everything was communicated clearly, and by mid-afternoon of the that day the solar was heating the pool."

Delays before scheduling. Other reviewers report waiting far longer than expected for estimates, installation, or start-date changes. These complaints point to inconsistent timing before the work begins or while the project is being coordinated. Representative review excerpt: "All of this is on top of their wrong estimate on when the panels would be installed (told us 6 weeks before signing, but it was 13 weeks)."

Workmanship & site care

Workmanship6.8/10

Most reviewers describe the crews as professional and the installations as clean, efficient, and well executed. At the same time, a smaller but important group reports workmanship defects, leaks, or repairs needed after the job, so site care and installation quality are not flawless.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Professional crews. Many reviewers praise the installers for being courteous, patient, and professional on site. These comments also mention clear explanations and a tidy work process. Representative review excerpt: "He is always on time, friendly to us and* our dogs, and he is patient and happy to explain to me parts of the process that I don't understand."

Clean, efficient install. Several customers say the installation itself went smoothly and the area was left in good condition. In these reviews, the work was completed efficiently and the system was up and running quickly. Representative review excerpt: "The actual installation went great, everything was communicated clearly, and by mid-afternoon of the that day the solar was heating the pool."

Workmanship defects and repairs. Some reviewers report cut corners, leaks, or later repairs that they felt should have been addressed during the original job. These accounts indicate that workmanship problems can surface after installation. Representative review excerpt: "The installers clearly cut corners to save money resulting in a faulty system."

Long-term support & performance

Long-Term Support5.0/10

This is the weakest area in the review set. Many customers report that the system performs as expected or helps meet heating goals, but a substantial number describe slow service, unresolved repairs, and difficulty getting post-install support when issues arise.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Positive system results. Several reviewers say the system works as expected and improves pool temperature or seasonal use. These comments suggest that, when operating normally, the setup can meet performance goals. Representative review excerpt: "System works as expected and I can finally swim in my pool before July"

Warranties and repair help for some. A few reviewers describe getting help tied to warranty support or resolving a pre-existing issue. These reports show that post-install support can be effective in some cases. Representative review excerpt: "While it did not solve the inverter issue, it was exactly what I needed to get Maxeon to honor the warranty on my SunPower panels after SunPower's bankruptcy."

Slow service and unresolved issues. Other reviewers say they struggled to get service, repair help, or answers after the system was installed. These complaints focus on understaffing, delays, and ongoing performance problems. Representative review excerpt: "And then if you finally do get an answer, they are under staffed and will take forever to do a service."

Bottom line: SOLARON’s review profile is mixed overall, with stronger marks for workmanship and sales clarity than for communication, pricing transparency, and long-term support. Reviewers most often praise the crew’s professionalism and the quality of the install, while the most persistent complaints involve delayed follow-up, timing issues, and slow post-install service.

Important context: this chart shows investor-owned-utility records only. Companies that shift work toward municipal-utility territory (LADWP and city power departments) or other states will show declining bars here even while building steadily elsewhere, and 2025-26 records also lag real installation dates. Treat this as a partial window, not the company's full trajectory.

How we built this data

Methodology: Counts are residential PV interconnections in investor-owned-utility territory (PG&E, SCE, SDG&E) per CPUC Rule 21 public records through May 2026. Postal and name variants are merged. Municipal utility territory such as LADWP, Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, Anaheim, and Riverside Public Utilities is not included in those CPUC counts. Counts show recorded installations, not quality ratings. Reported costs are self-reported on owned-system interconnections. No installer can pay for placement.

Who we are: Solar.com is a solar marketplace — we connect homeowners with installers and earn a fee when projects move forward. These rankings and scores are computed from public installation records and published customer reviews. No installer can pay for placement, and no installer — including those we work with — can pay to change a score.
