#67 of 678 scored in California by Solar.com Installer Score

How does Solarponics compare where you live? Rankings are local; an installer that leads one city can trail in the next. See how they rank in your city →

Why this differs from star ratings: most five-star reviews say “great company” and stop, and star averages reward that. These category scores only count reviews with concrete evidence, weighted by recency and the reviewer’s track record. A company can hold a strong star average while specific categories score lower; that gap is usually where the real story is. Categories with more complaints than praise are the questions worth asking any bidder, not necessarily dealbreakers.

Where Solarponics builds

County-by-county activity from CPUC records through May 2026.

What this data covers: *Counts on this page, including the totals up top, come from investor-owned-utility interconnection records (SCE, SDG&E, PG&E). Work in municipal-utility territory, such as LADWP or city utilities, and outside California does not appear here, so this company's true totals are higher than shown. Unlike the county rankings, this profile also shows counties below the 250-install ranking floor.

Solarponics reviews: what customers say

An independent synthesis of published customer feedback across Google and Yelp, updated September 28, 2026. Green marks praise, amber mixed experiences, red complaints.

Sales & proposal integrity

Sales Integrity7.4/10

Reviewers most often describe the sales process as clear and helpful, with staff explaining equipment choices, sizing, and expectations in a way customers could follow. A smaller set of reviews reports disappointment with follow-through, contract alignment, and project delays, so this area reads positive overall but not without complaints.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Clear proposal guidance. Reviewers say sales staff explained equipment options patiently and helped size systems to their needs. Several comments also say promises were delivered as discussed. Representative review excerpt: "Their salespeople (most recently Aadi Ahmad) have explained the equipment and my choices clearly and have patiently answered my many questions."

Helpful sizing and expectations. Some customers describe a straightforward proposal process and say they were happy with the salesperson and the installation timeline that was presented. Representative review excerpt: "They did a great job on helping to accurately size our system for our needs."

Follow-through concerns. A minority of reviews report frustration with communication, contract boundaries, or projects taking much longer than expected after signing. Representative review excerpt: "While their staff is both friendly and knowledgeable, it took them over 3 years to finish a project that was scheduled to take less than 6 months when I signed..."

Price & financing transparency

Price Transparency6.8/10

Reviewers often say Solarponics helped with rebates, financing guidance, and keeping projects within budget. At the same time, some reviews describe surprise charges, cleaning or service fees, and disputes over what was included, so this category is mixed to positive.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Budget and rebate help. Several reviewers say the company helped identify rebates and programs, and some describe the final cost as matching what was promised. Representative review excerpt: "They took care of everything from permits to rebates to loan application guidance."

Loan and incentive guidance. Customers also report support with loan applications and rebate timing, which they felt made the purchase process easier to understand. Representative review excerpt: "My project manager also applied for the 3CE rebates on my behalf, and that brought the total cost down to $250."

Billing and extra-charge disputes. A smaller group of reviewers reports confusion or dissatisfaction over charges, service fees, or warranty-related costs that they did not expect. Representative review excerpt: "I do not understand why I am being charged $150 when the reason Solarponics came to our house was due to a defective part."

Communication & coordination

Communication8.3/10

Communication is one of the stronger themes in the review corpus, with many customers describing timely updates, clear explanations, and a single point of contact who stayed involved. Complaints exist, but they are far less common than praise and tend to focus on slow responses, scheduling misses, or follow-through gaps.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Clear and timely updates. Reviewers frequently say communication was straightforward and that staff explained the process clearly, even when the technical details were complex. Representative review excerpt: "Communication was always timely and straight forward, and I felt respected in my limited technical understandings of the technology and the processes."

Single-contact support. Some customers note they could talk and text with one person through the process, which helped them feel guided from start to finish. Representative review excerpt: "I always ask a lot of questions and it was great to be able to talk and text with the same person guiding me through the process the whole time."

Scheduling and response complaints. A minority of reviewers report cancellations, long waits, or communication that felt disorganized during project coordination or service visits. Representative review excerpt: "Terrible customer service and super long wait times that get cancelled last minute."

Timeline reliability

Timeline Reliability7.4/10

Many reviewers say projects moved at a reasonable pace, with installers, inspectors, and utility steps completed successfully. There are still complaints about delays, missed dates, and projects taking much longer than expected, so timeline performance appears solid but uneven.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Smooth completion steps. Reviewers describe projects reaching inspection and utility coordination successfully, with crews finishing the installation and related handoffs. Representative review excerpt: "Installers completed the installation/connection of the 2 Batteries and met with City and PG&E inspectors completing the project."

Prompt field execution. Some customers say the field crew was timely and efficient and that the project stayed close to the promised schedule. Representative review excerpt: "The field crew were prompt, timely and efficient with installation, and explained and answered any questions or concerns."

Delay complaints. A smaller group reports long delays, last-minute cancellations, or timelines that stretched far beyond what was originally expected. Representative review excerpt: "While their staff is both friendly and knowledgeable, it took them over 3 years to finish a project that was scheduled to take less than 6 months when I signed..."

Workmanship & site care

Workmanship8.7/10

Workmanship reviews are strongly positive overall, with many customers praising installation quality, professionalism, and care during the job. The main complaints are limited and usually center on damaged materials, missed details, or confusion about site services rather than broad installation failure.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Strong installation quality. Reviewers frequently describe the installation as professional, careful, and well executed, with attention to detail across panels, batteries, and related equipment. Representative review excerpt: "The quality of design, concern for detail and the absolute quality of the installation confirms they are the go to people on the Central Coast for solar and hydronic services."

Careful crew behavior. Some customers specifically note that workers took care around the property and handled site conditions thoughtfully during the project. Representative review excerpt: "I was concerned about trenching near a large oak tree in our yard, but the workers meticulously hand-trenched the area, taking extreme care not to damage any roots."

Site-care issues. A small number of reviews mention damage concerns or confusion around cleanup and service tasks during the visit. Representative review excerpt: "Upon arrival, they had no idea they were also cleaning the solar panels, a service that we pay for as a biannual service, until they actually looked at the paperwork."

Long-term support & performance

Long-Term Support9.1/10

This is the strongest category in the review set, with many customers reporting reliable system performance and helpful post-install support over time. Complaints are relatively uncommon and tend to focus on service charges, warranty questions, or repair follow-up rather than overall performance.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Reliable long-term production. Reviewers often say their systems continued performing well after installation, with some describing years of stable output and strong savings on bills.

Helpful post-install support. Customers also report that staff resolved issues, explained next steps, and stayed involved after the project was complete. Representative review excerpt: "You can tell he really knows his stuff — he explained everything clearly, solved a few tricky issues on the spot, and made sure the job was done right."

Warranty and service disputes. A smaller set of reviews raises concerns about charged service calls, warranty transfer questions, or support that felt limited after the system was already operating. Representative review excerpt: "The response I received was my system was working perfectly but needed a cleaning (for a charge)."

Bottom line: Solarponics’ review profile is strongest in workmanship, long-term support, and communication, while sales clarity and timeline reliability also trend positive overall. The main recurring complaints involve pricing or financing surprises, project delays, and a handful of post-install service or warranty disputes.

Important context: this chart shows investor-owned-utility records only. Companies that shift work toward municipal-utility territory (LADWP and city power departments) or other states will show declining bars here even while building steadily elsewhere, and 2025-26 records also lag real installation dates. Treat this as a partial window, not the company's full trajectory.

How we built this data

Methodology: Counts are residential PV interconnections in investor-owned-utility territory (PG&E, SCE, SDG&E) per CPUC Rule 21 public records through May 2026. Postal and name variants are merged. Municipal utility territory such as LADWP, Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, Anaheim, and Riverside Public Utilities is not included in those CPUC counts. Counts show recorded installations, not quality ratings. Reported costs are self-reported on owned-system interconnections. No installer can pay for placement.

Who we are: Solar.com is a solar marketplace — we connect homeowners with installers and earn a fee when projects move forward. These rankings and scores are computed from public installation records and published customer reviews. No installer can pay for placement, and no installer — including those we work with — can pay to change a score.
