#140 of 678 scored in California by Solar.com Installer Score

How does Solectric compare where you live? Rankings are local; an installer that leads one city can trail in the next. See how they rank in your city →

Why this differs from star ratings: most five-star reviews say “great company” and stop, and star averages reward that. These category scores only count reviews with concrete evidence, weighted by recency and the reviewer’s track record. A company can hold a strong star average while specific categories score lower; that gap is usually where the real story is. Categories with more complaints than praise are the questions worth asking any bidder, not necessarily dealbreakers.

Where Solectric builds

County-by-county activity from CPUC records through May 2026.

What this data covers: *Counts on this page, including the totals up top, come from investor-owned-utility interconnection records (SCE, SDG&E, PG&E). Work in municipal-utility territory, such as LADWP or city utilities, and outside California does not appear here, so this company's true totals are higher than shown. Unlike the county rankings, this profile also shows counties below the 250-install ranking floor.

Solectric reviews: what customers say

An independent synthesis of published customer feedback across Google and Yelp, updated September 28, 2026. Green marks praise, amber mixed experiences, red complaints.

Sales & proposal integrity

Sales Integrity7.6/10

Reviewers mostly describe Solectric’s sales process as clear, accommodating, and aligned with expectations.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Clear proposals and expectations. Reviewers say the proposal process was detailed and the company generally delivered what was described up front. Several mention that the sizing, quotes, and overall project framing felt straightforward. Representative review excerpt: "From initial contact, ongoing communication, the project proposals / quotes, the project scheduling, the project execution, work quality, problem solving & overall value - every aspect of this business is..."

Responsive and patient sales support. Customers describe staff as responsive and willing to answer repeated questions without pressure. One reviewer specifically highlights quick replies and a patient approach. Representative review excerpt: "Jessica in Operations was my main contact and she answered my emails or phone calls quickly and even though I had numerous questions she was always patient and listened well."

Price concerns in a small number of reviews. A limited set of reviewers say the quote or payment terms did not feel favorable to them. Those comments focus on higher pricing and unfavorable payment options rather than broad contract issues. Representative review excerpt: "Did not deal with this company after that quote was twice as much as anybody else plus they tried to tell me oh wow we put the solar panels and..."

Price & financing transparency

Price Transparency6.9/10

Feedback on price and financing is generally positive, but this is one of the more mixed categories. Reviewers often describe low bills or no added project cost, while a small number raise concerns about payment options or quote levels.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Costs that felt manageable. Several reviewers say the project came in without unexpected add-on costs or resulted in meaningfully lower electric bills. These comments suggest that, for many customers, the financial outcome matched the original expectations. Representative review excerpt: "There was no added cost to me for the entire project even though there was added cost to Daniel."

Lower bills after installation. Some reviewers point to substantial reductions in their electric bills after the system was turned on. The feedback is framed as a result of the installed system rather than as a general pricing promise. Representative review excerpt: "So thrilled to have an electric bill about 10% of what it was last summer - from $220 in July 2020 to $22 in July 2021!"

Payment and quote concerns. A small number of reviewers report dissatisfaction with payment options or say the quoted price felt too high. The complaints are limited in number, but they show that financing and upfront pricing were not always viewed as transparent. Representative review excerpt: "Their payment options for service are horrible."

Communication & coordination

Communication8.1/10

Communication is one of Solectric’s strongest areas in the review set. Reviewers frequently describe responsive staff, smooth handoffs between team members, and steady project oversight from first contact through completion, with only rare criticism about follow-up testing or troubleshooting.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Responsive project support. Reviewers repeatedly describe the team as helpful, responsive, and easy to reach. They say questions were answered promptly and project updates were handled well. Representative review excerpt: "The staff were helpful and responsive."

Strong coordination across the project. Customers mention being kept in the loop across sales, scheduling, execution, and problem solving. This suggests the company generally maintained ownership of the process end to end. Representative review excerpt: "From initial contact, ongoing communication, the project proposals / quotes, the project scheduling, the project execution, work quality, problem solving & overall value - every aspect of this business is..."

Rare follow-up concern. One reviewer says a technician acknowledged an issue but did not continue with additional testing at that visit. It appears to be an isolated complaint rather than a recurring pattern. Representative review excerpt: "A tech comes out, does some software updates, agrees that something is not right, doesn't do any further tests."

Timeline reliability

Timeline Reliability7.3/10

Most reviewers say Solectric kept projects moving and handled permitting, inspections, and utility steps effectively. There are a few timing complaints, including a late appointment and some permitting or activation delays, but the overall pattern is still positive.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Permitting and utility coordination. Reviewers say Solectric handled inspections, utility coordination, and scheduling details so projects could move forward. Several mention that the team stayed active through the permitting and interconnection process. Representative review excerpt: "Jessica (project manager) was also very responsive and went above and beyond to keep our project moving through the permitting process and interconnection agreement with our utility."

Quick scheduling when needed. Some customers note that the company was able to fit them into the schedule quickly when they were in a bind. That points to flexibility on timing for at least part of the review set. Representative review excerpt: "We were in a bind before this, but they were able to add us to their schedule quickly."

Occasional timing misses. A small number of reviewers report a late appointment or delays around inspection and activation timing. These comments indicate that schedule reliability was not perfect even though they were not the dominant theme. Representative review excerpt: "Tech was late on first appointment and I had to push service to another day."

Workmanship & site care

Workmanship8.3/10

Installation workmanship receives strong marks overall. Reviewers often describe professional crews, solid installation quality, and good follow-through on later adjustments or related roof work, with only rare complaints tied to punctuality or service specifics.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Professional installation quality. Reviewers say the work was done professionally and the finished system met expectations. Some specifically describe the installation as correct and well executed. Representative review excerpt: "They were done great and professionally."

Helpful on related site work. Customers mention Solectric returning for later roof-related work or additional panel changes after the initial install. That suggests the company was able to handle follow-on site needs as well as the original project. Representative review excerpt: "I have had the good fortune of working with Solectric for my initial solar installation a number of years ago and recently when I had to have my roof replaced."

Isolated service timing complaint. One complaint notes a technician arrived late and the visit had to be rescheduled. This appears to be an isolated site-care or appointment issue rather than a broader workmanship pattern. Representative review excerpt: "Tech was late on first appointment and I had to push service to another day."

Long-term support & performance

Long-Term Support7.8/10

Post-install feedback is largely positive, with reviewers describing working systems, effective troubleshooting, and helpful service after turn-on. A small amount of criticism centers on continued production or support issues, but it is not the dominant pattern.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Systems performing well after install. Several reviewers say their systems continued to perform well after installation and delivered the expected results over time. These comments frame Solectric as attentive beyond the day of install. Representative review excerpt: "The system installed by Solectric in early 2025 was sized exactly right, installed perfectly, and a year later has relieved me of the cost of air conditioning and heating a..."

Troubleshooting and repair help. Customers report that the company helped fix battery, inverter, or fuse-related issues after the system was already in service. That suggests post-install support was meaningful for many reviewers. Representative review excerpt: "They were able to troubleshoot and fix my Sunpower Sunvault solar battery system."

One ongoing production concern. A minority of reviewers mention needing customer support and still seeing production taper again afterward. This points to some unresolved long-term performance concerns in the review set. Representative review excerpt: "I contacted SunPower customer support they said to reset the system, worked great for a while then production tapered again."

Bottom line: Solectric’s review profile is strongest in communication, coordination, workmanship, and long-term support, where reviewers frequently describe responsive staff and solid execution. Sales transparency and timeline reliability are still rated positively overall, but they include a few complaints around price, payment terms, and schedule timing. The headline Solar.com installer score is 8.4/10, based on 78 substantive reviews from Google and Yelp.

Important context: this chart shows investor-owned-utility records only. Companies that shift work toward municipal-utility territory (LADWP and city power departments) or other states will show declining bars here even while building steadily elsewhere, and 2025-26 records also lag real installation dates. Treat this as a partial window, not the company's full trajectory.

How we built this data

Methodology: Counts are residential PV interconnections in investor-owned-utility territory (PG&E, SCE, SDG&E) per CPUC Rule 21 public records through May 2026. Postal and name variants are merged. Municipal utility territory such as LADWP, Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, Anaheim, and Riverside Public Utilities is not included in those CPUC counts. Counts show recorded installations, not quality ratings. Reported costs are self-reported on owned-system interconnections. No installer can pay for placement.

Who we are: Solar.com is a solar marketplace — we connect homeowners with installers and earn a fee when projects move forward. These rankings and scores are computed from public installation records and published customer reviews. No installer can pay for placement, and no installer — including those we work with — can pay to change a score.
