How does Sunfinity Solar compare where you live? Rankings are local; an installer that leads one city can trail in the next. See how they rank in your city →

Why this differs from star ratings: most five-star reviews say “great company” and stop, and star averages reward that. These category scores only count reviews with concrete evidence, weighted by recency and the reviewer’s track record. A company can hold a strong star average while specific categories score lower; that gap is usually where the real story is. Categories with more complaints than praise are the questions worth asking any bidder, not necessarily dealbreakers.

Where Sunfinity Solar builds

County-by-county activity from CPUC records through May 2026.

What this data covers: *Counts on this page, including the totals up top, come from investor-owned-utility interconnection records (SCE, SDG&E, PG&E). Work in municipal-utility territory, such as LADWP or city utilities, and outside California does not appear here, so this company's true totals are higher than shown. Unlike the county rankings, this profile also shows counties below the 250-install ranking floor.

Sunfinity Solar reviews: what customers say

An independent synthesis of published customer feedback, updated September 28, 2026. Green marks praise, amber mixed experiences, red complaints.

Sales & proposal integrity

Sales Integrity5.4/10

Reviewers give a mixed picture of the sales process.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Promises not matched in writing. Several reviewers say sales promises about upgrades, rebates, or other terms did not match what was later reflected in the contract or delivered in practice. Representative review excerpt: "To this day the representative confirms the promise he made but as it was "not put in contract and he had no authorization to make promise" the company will not..."

Pressure concerns. A reviewer also describes the sales approach as overly aggressive in neighborhoods, adding to the negative feedback in this category. Representative review excerpt: "This company seems to be bringing the salespeople here by the van full and just dropping them off to harass the neighborhoods."

Pricing early experience. Reviewers describe a recurring pattern in this area. Representative review excerpt: "We had been wanting to install solar for a year and we researched all of our options and Sunfinity had the most competitive pricing, they were the most responsive to..."

Price & financing transparency

Price Transparency5.1/10

Feedback on pricing and financing is consistently negative overall. Reviewers describe confusion about deposits, refunds, incentive timing, and other cost-related expectations, with little evidence of clear resolution in the review set.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Incentive timing confusion. One reviewer says the deal included expectations around incentive timing that were not clearly delivered as understood. Representative review excerpt: "Sunfinity won my business not because they are better than anybody else as this was my first solar system I've had installed but because they offered a little more in..."

No clear help on cost-related issues. Another reviewer reports difficulty getting help with a panel-removal question tied to roof replacement, which they experienced as part of the broader transparency problem. Representative review excerpt: "Need information on removing panels for roof replacement but can not get anyone to help."

Ongoing billing frustration. Reviewers also describe unresolved billing or financing concerns after installation, including not getting the answers they wanted about charges. Representative review excerpt: "We had our solar panel installed since Aug 2019, but the electricty still is not connected as today 2/15/2020."

Communication & coordination

Communication4.4/10

This is one of the weaker areas in the review corpus. Reviewers frequently report slow responses, missed callbacks, and difficulty reaching anyone after the sale, though a few customers describe a smooth and organized process.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Hard to reach after signing. Multiple reviewers say calls and emails went unanswered or were routed to voicemail without a return call. Representative review excerpt: "Will not answer emails or calls either."

Responsiveness varied. Some reviewers say Sunfinity was responsive early on, but that communication became harder once issues came up and they needed follow-up. Representative review excerpt: "We had been wanting to install solar for a year and we researched all of our options and Sunfinity had the most competitive pricing, they were the most responsive to..."

Organized process for some customers. A small number of customers describe the process as easy and organized from the initial visit through finalizing the deal. Representative review excerpt: "The entire process of her coming out to finalizing the deal was through Amanda and was so easy and organized."

Timeline reliability

Timeline Reliability4.9/10

Timeline performance trends negative in the review set. Reviewers commonly report delays between signing, installation, inspections, and system activation, although one reviewer says approvals were handled in a timely manner.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Delays to completion. Several reviewers say installation or activation took much longer than expected, with work still unfinished weeks or months later. Representative review excerpt: "I've been dealing with this company since July solar panels were supposed to be up and done by August 16 it is now October still nothing panels have been on..."

Missed schedule expectations. Other reviews describe missed installation dates or long waits for the project to move forward after paperwork was signed. Representative review excerpt: "On the day of scheduled installation( Friday) , nobody from Sunfinity bothers to email, text or call me to let me know that there's a problem with the design and..."

Timely approval in one case. One reviewer reports that city, HOA, and utility approvals were obtained promptly. Representative review excerpt: "They got approvals from all the necessary City inspectors and my CC&R board, and PG&E in a timely manner."

Workmanship & site care

Workmanship6.3/10

Workmanship reviews are more favorable than the communication and timing categories, but they are not uniformly positive. Installation mistakes reported. A few reviewers report workmanship problems such as incomplete installs or damage that needed follow-up repair. Representative review excerpt: "During install on a townhome, they started installing panels on my neighbor's roof and had to patch the holes."

Long-term support & performance

Long-Term Support5.0/10

Post-install support receives mixed to negative feedback. Some reviewers say the system and project handoff were handled well, but others report difficulty getting help after the system was up, including follow-up on performance or service issues.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

No response on later issues. Some reviewers say that when systems stopped working or needed service, they could not get timely responses to calls or emails. Representative review excerpt: "They installed my system back in 2016 and now that it's not working (again!) I can't seem to get anyone to return voice mails or emails."

Unresolved production concerns. Other reviewers report problems after activation, including systems indicating issues while support was slow to respond. Representative review excerpt: "Do you like to have your system notify you that it has issues making electricity but having your solar company totally ignore your appointment dates and not even calling to..."

Positive handoff experiences. A few reviewers describe the overall process as smooth and organized once the project was underway. Representative review excerpt: "The entire process of her coming out to finalizing the deal was through Amanda and was so easy and organized."

Bottom line: Solar.com’s review corpus for SUNFINITY SOLAR is mixed overall, with stronger marks for workmanship than for communication, pricing transparency, or post-install support. The most common complaint patterns involve unanswered calls, project delays, and concerns that sales expectations did not fully match the written contract or final outcome.

Important context: this chart shows investor-owned-utility records only. Companies that shift work toward municipal-utility territory (LADWP and city power departments) or other states will show declining bars here even while building steadily elsewhere, and 2025-26 records also lag real installation dates. Treat this as a partial window, not the company's full trajectory.

How we built this data

Methodology: Counts are residential PV interconnections in investor-owned-utility territory (PG&E, SCE, SDG&E) per CPUC Rule 21 public records through May 2026. Postal and name variants are merged. Municipal utility territory such as LADWP, Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, Anaheim, and Riverside Public Utilities is not included in those CPUC counts. Counts show recorded installations, not quality ratings. Reported costs are self-reported on owned-system interconnections. No installer can pay for placement.

Who we are: Solar.com is a solar marketplace — we connect homeowners with installers and earn a fee when projects move forward. These rankings and scores are computed from public installation records and published customer reviews. No installer can pay for placement, and no installer — including those we work with — can pay to change a score.
