#358 of 678 scored in California by Solar.com Installer Score

How does United Electric compare where you live? Rankings are local; an installer that leads one city can trail in the next. See how they rank in your city →

Why this differs from star ratings: most five-star reviews say “great company” and stop, and star averages reward that. These category scores only count reviews with concrete evidence, weighted by recency and the reviewer’s track record. A company can hold a strong star average while specific categories score lower; that gap is usually where the real story is. Categories with more complaints than praise are the questions worth asking any bidder, not necessarily dealbreakers.

Where United Electric builds

County-by-county activity from CPUC records through May 2026.

What this data covers: *Counts on this page, including the totals up top, come from investor-owned-utility interconnection records (SCE, SDG&E, PG&E). Work in municipal-utility territory, such as LADWP or city utilities, and outside California does not appear here, so this company's true totals are higher than shown. Unlike the county rankings, this profile also shows counties below the 250-install ranking floor.

United Electric reviews: what customers say

An independent synthesis of published customer feedback across Google and Yelp, updated September 28, 2026. Green marks praise, amber mixed experiences, red complaints.

Sales & proposal integrity

Sales Integrity7.1/10

Reviewers generally describe United Electric’s sales process as clear and easy to work with, with multiple comments about straightforward answers and prompt quotes. There is one complaint pattern around a less transparent estimate or proposal experience, but it appears less common than the praise.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Clear, collaborative proposals. Reviewers repeatedly say the owner and sales process felt honest, collaborative, and easy to understand. Several mention that questions were answered clearly and quotes were provided quickly. Representative review excerpt: "Jon the owner was not only easy to work with, but his clear, honest, and collaborative approach to the project was refreshing and incredibly helpful."

Fast quote responses. Some customers report receiving a quote in short order after asking for it, which they describe as helpful during the planning stage. Representative review excerpt: "He answered all of my questions and gave me a quote in short order."

Estimate clarity concern. A smaller set of reviewers describes the proposal experience less favorably, saying an estimate was only verbal or that expectations were not fully communicated. Representative review excerpt: "He also sat in driveway 45 on his cell with car running (trying to milk the job was my impression)- Office people are super!"

Price & financing transparency

Price Transparency6.4/10

Feedback on pricing and financing is mostly positive, with several reviewers saying pricing stayed within the quoted amount or felt reasonable. Still, a notable minority report billing disputes, undisclosed charges, or dissatisfaction with warranty-related costs, so this category reads as mixed.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Stayed within quote. Several reviewers say the final price matched the quoted amount and that the work felt fairly priced. Representative review excerpt: "The quality of work was excellent and he stayed within the quoted price."

Reasonable, Pricing pricing. Reviewers describe a recurring pattern in this area. Representative review excerpt: "Prices were competitive, they showed up on time and got the job done in the expected time-frame."

Billing and cost concerns. A smaller group reports unexpected billing changes, unclear disclosure around costs, or frustration tied to warranty-related work and reimbursement timing. Representative review excerpt: "Tim was the worst - only gave verbal estimate, then he billed for more and never disclosed or discussed."

Communication & coordination

Communication7.4/10

Communication is a frequent strength in the review corpus, especially around appointment reminders, technician updates, and office follow-up. At the same time, some reviewers describe slow responses or repeated calls to get answers, so the picture is positive overall with a real but smaller coordination complaint pattern.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Responsive office updates. Reviewers often say the office followed up promptly, kept them informed, and sent useful appointment or arrival notifications. Representative review excerpt: "The office manager, Bobbi, was in communication with me as soon as she had info on the appt."

Good coordination during service. Some customers say the team was easy to work with and kept them informed through the process, including reminders and technician tracking. Representative review excerpt: "After I made the appointment I received a follow up reminder of my appointment and a tracking notification when the technician was on their way."

Slow or inconsistent responses. A smaller group reports having to call repeatedly for updates or feeling that communication broke down after the initial contact. Representative review excerpt: "From having to call constantly to get responses about when the work would be done to the quality of the work."

Timeline reliability

Timeline Reliability7.1/10

Most reviewers say scheduling and arrival timing were dependable, with appointments set promptly and technicians showing up on time. Only a small number describe missed expectations around job completion or scheduling follow-through.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Prompt scheduling. Reviewers mention fast appointment setup and timely notifications about when work would begin. Representative review excerpt: "We had an appointment set up immediately for an electrician to come out to give me an idea of what to expect when the work starts in the next couple..."

On-time arrivals. Several customers note that technicians arrived as scheduled and the work proceeded on the expected timeline. Representative review excerpt: "On the day of the install, Miguel arrived on time and was very friendly."

Completion concerns. A smaller set of reviewers says some jobs did not finish as expected or that scheduling follow-through was frustrating. Representative review excerpt: "They don't finish jobs, they skirt paying for taxes, their guy Jesse hamstrings every thing he touches with his lack of management experience and utter buffoonery when it comes to..."

Workmanship & site care

Workmanship8.1/10

Workmanship is one of United Electric’s strongest areas in the review set, with many customers praising professionalism, careful prep, and clean job sites. A few reviewers report installation issues or unfinished details, but those complaints are clearly outnumbered by positive accounts.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Professional installation. Reviewers frequently describe the installers as professional, efficient, and willing to answer questions during the job. Representative review excerpt: "The installer was efficient and extremely professional."

Careful prep and cleanup. Some customers specifically mention meticulous prep, cleanup, and respectful treatment of the property. Representative review excerpt: "The schedule was always clearly communicated and their genuine respect and care extends to their meticulous prep and clean-up."

Occasional installation issues. A small number of reviewers report unresolved installation problems or details that needed correction after the work was done. Representative review excerpt: "As far as their work, there are still some problems with LED dimmers that were not properly installed but overall ok."

Long-term support & performance

Long-Term Support6.8/10

Post-install feedback is mixed. Some reviewers report systems working well over time, including easy monitoring and reliable operation, while others describe difficulties getting warranty or repair help after the initial installation.Solar.com's composite of published customer feedback, not a customer quote

Systems performing well. Several reviewers say their systems are running properly, easy to monitor, or working as expected after installation. Representative review excerpt: "Our solar system is up and running, is easy to track online, and has already saved us substantially on electric bills."

Reliable day-to-day operation. Customers also report positive post-install performance such as equipment operating normally when needed. Representative review excerpt: "Lost power last week and generator came on immediately, ran until power restored and then turned off just as expected."

Warranty follow-up frustrations. A smaller group reports trouble getting warranty or repair support after the job was complete, including needing repeated follow-up for service issues. Representative review excerpt: "Since then my General Contractor pays for a different electrician to come and take care of the little pieces of warranty work that was their responsiblity."

Bottom line: United Electric’s reviews are strongest on workmanship, communication, and the clarity of many sales interactions, while price transparency and post-install support are more mixed. The overall Solar.com installer score of 7.9/10 aligns with a review set that is mostly positive but includes recurring complaints about billing clarity, scheduling follow-through, and warranty support.

Important context: this chart shows investor-owned-utility records only. Companies that shift work toward municipal-utility territory (LADWP and city power departments) or other states will show declining bars here even while building steadily elsewhere, and 2025-26 records also lag real installation dates. Treat this as a partial window, not the company's full trajectory.

How we built this data

Methodology: Counts are residential PV interconnections in investor-owned-utility territory (PG&E, SCE, SDG&E) per CPUC Rule 21 public records through May 2026. Postal and name variants are merged. Municipal utility territory such as LADWP, Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, Anaheim, and Riverside Public Utilities is not included in those CPUC counts. Counts show recorded installations, not quality ratings. Reported costs are self-reported on owned-system interconnections. No installer can pay for placement.

Who we are: Solar.com is a solar marketplace — we connect homeowners with installers and earn a fee when projects move forward. These rankings and scores are computed from public installation records and published customer reviews. No installer can pay for placement, and no installer — including those we work with — can pay to change a score.
