Program Terms

Referral & Affiliate Program Terms

Last updated September 2026

These terms govern the Solar.com Customer Referral Program and the Solar.com Affiliate Program (together, the “Program”), operated by Pick My Solar Corp. dba Electrum. By requesting a referral link, applying to the affiliate program, or accepting any Program payout, you agree to these terms.

  • 2. Earning milestone payouts
  • 3. Referred-customer credit
  • 4. Balance and redemption
  • 5. Program integrity
  • 6. General

1. Program scope

The Program applies exclusively to full rooftop solar installations and backup battery storage systems purchased through Solar.com by customers in the United States. It does not apply to any other product or service that may be offered on or through Solar.com, including smaller-ticket or accessory products such as portable batteries or balcony solar kits.

Solar.com may modify payout amounts, milestone definitions, state tiers, eligibility rules, or any other aspect of the Program at any time. Changes apply prospectively and do not affect amounts already credited to your balance.

2. Earning milestone payouts

Payouts accrue when a person you referred (a “Referred Customer”) reaches defined project milestones: verified registration, completed order (design completed with utility bill and electrical panel photo uploaded), signed installation contract, and completed installation. Current payout amounts are published on the Program pages.

A registration only qualifies when the Referred Customer verifies a working email address or phone number. Unverified or automated sign-ups earn nothing.

Milestone payouts are scaled by the state where the system is installed, per the state tiers published on the Program pages.

Attribution is first-touch: a Referred Customer is credited to the first referral or affiliate link they used. A person who was already in Solar.com's sales pipeline (for example, a prior quote request or contact) before using your link does not qualify as a Referred Customer, and no payout is owed for them.

3. Referred-customer credit

In the Customer Referral Program, the Referred Customer receives the advertised credit (currently $500) applied to their contract price. This credit belongs to the Referred Customer and is separate from the referrer's own payouts.

In the Affiliate Program, an affiliate may elect to redirect a portion of their installation payout to the Referred Customer as an additional discount, within the split range offered in the affiliate dashboard.

4. Balance and redemption

Program payouts accrue to a balance visible in your dashboard. Balances are not interest-bearing and are not a deposit account.

You may request redemption once your balance reaches the minimum redemption threshold (currently $100). Redemptions are processed within approximately 7–10 business days by check or an equivalent method.

Once your cumulative Program earnings in a calendar year reach the IRS reporting threshold (currently $2,000), further redemption is paused until you complete and return a Form W-9 and any required Program agreement. Your balance continues to accrue while paperwork is pending. Program earnings may be reported to tax authorities as required by law; you are responsible for your own taxes.

5. Program integrity

Self-referral is prohibited. You may not refer yourself, members of your household, or use a false or secondary identity to claim both referrer and referred-customer benefits.

Solar.com reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to suspend or terminate any referral or affiliate relationship on suspicion of fraud, abuse, misrepresentation, spam, or any violation of these terms. Termination immediately deactivates your unique link and landing page.

Upon termination for suspected fraud or abuse, any unredeemed accumulated balance is forfeited in full. Amounts already paid out before termination are final; Solar.com owes nothing further.

Affiliates must not make false or misleading claims about Solar.com, impersonate Solar.com, bid on Solar.com trademarks in paid search, or send unsolicited bulk messages containing their link. Affiliates must clearly disclose their material connection to Solar.com as required by the FTC.

6. General

The Program is void where prohibited. Participation does not create any employment, agency, or partnership relationship with Solar.com.

These Program terms supplement the Solar.com Terms & Conditions (https://solar.com/terms/), which also apply.
